Jun 06, 2014 The closest thing Tomodachi Life has to a goal is that two Miis can get married — though only men and women can get hitched, unfortunately — and move into a.
More family optionsAt the Concert Hall, you can watch your Miis sing. There are two options available, solo performances or group performances. Once two or more of your Miis have leveled up and learned the same songs, they can perform as a group. Tomodachi Life's photo studio is the perfect place to document the growth of your island's population, and allows you to create perfectly stage photos which you can post to Twitter or Facebook.
A given as it could get annoying if you have you and your sister and you end up married. Unless you're cool with that in which case go for it. - MasterBeef
Yes! This would be so helpful. It would also be cool if you could keep the kids for longer, make specificity a mii as a child, and have twins or triplets. It would also be cool if all the family members could go in the house, or have multiple children in the same house.
I had Ron and Ginny Weasley from 'Harry Potter' (among other 'Harry Potter' characters- and characters from many other sources) on my island, but could not set their relationship to brother and sister. For nearly an entire YEAR they did not even acknowledge each other's existence, and when they did finally meet every time I played I had to hope and pray they did not divorce the spouses they'd already married and try to pursue each other romantically. I finally had to boot them and most of their HP 'co-stars' because it was becoming too much.
I have Reese and Cyrus, who are canonically married to each other, on my island. I should have been able to just set them as 'married' from the get-go rather than spend every game session hoping no one else took an interest in either of them or vice versa before they finally met each other, Reese asked Cyrus out, and Cyrus proposed.
2Gay couplesIn the meantime, nothing's stopping anyone from passing off one half of a gay couple as the opposite gender thus the couple can still happen. Sure that means the game uses the wrong pronouns, a lesbian who actually does wear dresses or a gay guy who actually doesn't wear women's clothing end up in suits and dresses respectively during certain scenes, and the resulting couple can still have babies, but small price to pay.
I just make my Miis the opposite gender, but that causes problems. I'm tired of lesbians showing their (ehem) when in a towel. This would be perfect!
They didn't remove it, it was never added.
As a lesbian, it would be really useful!
3More than 100 apartmentsNeeded so bad. You want to do an island with only Harry Potter characters but you run out of room and have to throw away the characters you dislike. - MasterBeef
250 apartments per save file, and let's add the ability to have 3 save files. This should be a thing on Tomodachi Life on the Switch. - KalloFox34
4More outfits for miisI'd also love more outfit customization, like choosing what pants, shoes, and shirt go together. and even though it is not on the list, I'd love more apartment customization and not just a set.
Tomodachi Life Can Your Miis Die 2
I want like other Nintendo costumes
More Nintendo themed outfits
5Odd hair colors that are permanent and get passed on to babiesThe next Tomodachi Life, if they make one, will probably be on the Switch, and the Switch lets your miis have odd hair colors, so this will probably be in Tomodachi Life 2.
We all love the hair color spray for giving Marth his blue hair, Lum her green hair, or even using the orange and yellow shades to make redheads and blondes respectively more accurate than the Mii Maker allows. However, you always have to re-spray Marth or whoever's hair after baths, and babies get whatever a parent's 'natural' hair color was if one or both parents have dyed hair. That first one is very annoying in regular play, and that second one can only be dealt with if the child stays on as a resident.
I really wish they were permanent! It is really annoying how they aren't to common, so sometimes you have to wait to give a character you made the correct hair color. Also, it comes off if you give them a bath set, which is also annoying if someone with a hair color spray hair color wants a bath.
6More hair and face options when you create a miiDefinitely! and I would say new hair colors, so we don't have to use the hair color spray
I want all my girl miis to have long hair most of the hairs when you create a mii are shoulder length
7You get to choose their nationalityI'd love that! I made my british friend in my game, but the game will only let me have an american accent.
My miis are supposed to be American so I want them to be American, and you can choose American, Australian, English, Canadian, Asian, African, and Scandinavian
Kind of exists, the Mii Maker has skin colors. - KalloFox34
9Married couples can have more babiesMore mii home activist like they have a poll and and a grill and the miis can host a party for the other married couples on the island and sweethearts to if there freinds with them kids will be in the pool and parents will be grilling or watching T.V. inside the house
That was already added but that can happen if the first child is grown up. The brothers and sisters won't live with each other
It could be the loud house
10You get to record your own voice for your miisYou would then have to say every thing your mii would regularly say like 'I want to take a picture' or I want to get to know (mii's name).'
You would have 2 options record your own voice, or just the main thing where you can change the pitch and all that other stuff.
The Contenders
11Turn off relationships and break-upsIf they won't let us set family relationships, this would be helpful in that one need never worry about, say, Bart and Lisa Simpson or Ron and Ginny Weasley becoming romantically involved.
As with babies, it wouldn't effect any break-ups that have already occurred and any relationships (including marriages) already present won't be terminated. Meanwhile, no need to worry about characters you don't want hooking up (or third parties trying to play matchmaker) or any couples you want to stay together (mainly real-life- say, you and your actual spouse/significant other- or canon in the source material couples- say, Cosmo and Wanda- that haven't actually broken up) splitting up.
God, break-ups can be annoying. Alternatively, you can choose a Mii's friends when you create one (so that it's like they already know each other) - KalloFox34
12Permanent petsNot this rent a dog rent a cat nonsense currently in the game. Actually being able to give residents a dog or cat to keep, and one that you can interact with as well.
I don't even have the game but I am still wanting this stuff to happen - toptenforlife
My real-life cat had to be put down recently, and if I could add a cat that looks like him for my Mii to just keep as a pet rather than have random cats occasionally show up in my apartment, I totally would; I miss him so much.
I would love this! It would also be cool if they added some Nintendo characters (such as Pikachu or toad) that could be your Mii's pet.
We need more pets
13More than one save fileI'd love to see what it's like to start anew, but still have my old safe file.
I need this SO bad, sometimes having just one save file can get boring...
Good idea
14A royalty status for royal miisI once made an island where all my miis were princesses, queens, and princes they should have an option if they are royal or not
15The possibility for other people besides rival love interests to potentially interrupt love confessionsLike a disapproving parent or a best friend who isn't on great terms with the would-be sweetheart.
16More minigamesHow about Nintendo themed minigames
17Festivals and holidaysYou know, like in Animal Crossing?
18Some acknowledgment of 'pregnancy'Not necessarily a noticeable belly, but once you've answered a baby request in the affirmative at least the random comments from mother or father should include something along the lines of how they're looking forward to the blessed event. There have been times I'd told a couple they could have a baby then forgotten I'd done so between then and when they announced the birth.
yes
19More prize options when miis level upRight now I'm thinking T.V. should be added
20Make miis dieNah, kids wouldn't like that much. - KalloFox34
21Ability to turn off requests for new clothes/hats and new interiorsEven better, just take that out completely. Most of my Miis are of certain characters and I finally got them the outfits that most closely resemble what they actually wear, so of COURSE they keep telling me 'I'd like some new clothes'. Ugh!
Especially for Miis who already have one of the 'hairstyles' with a hat attached. Stop asking for a hat to wear over the one you've got and in fact even wear to bed and during baths!
Seriously, how many of those does a person even *need*? It's like they won't rest until you've given them every such item in the game, it's very, very annoying!
22Perform playsIn 'Suikoden III' once certain conditions were met you could actually have the characters perform either scenes from a public domain source (e.g. 'Romeo and Juliet', 'The Little Match Girl') or from the first two games (provided you were using a memory card that also contained save files of those first two games). I'd love to be able to do that with my island residents like I can have them do concerts. As with 'Suikoden', public domain plays and stories could be used as well as maybe a skit or more taken from other Nintendo games ('Mario, 'Zelda', 'Kid Icarus', 'Metroid', 'Fire Emblem', etc). Like the songs, these would be given as level-up rewards and anyone who had been given the script could be involved in that play.
23More fantasyMiis can be fantasy characters like vampires, werewolves, fairies, superheros, mermaids, warriors, and monsters
It could be a legend Of Zelda cosplay
24Ability to see what Mii's are watching on TV/TabletThat and maybe play the game consoles with them, like have the game consoles be another way to play Tomodachi Quest or something.
25Family photos with babies can also include siblings if there are anyRight now the only baby photo options are with the parents or the baby by itself. There was one couple whose daughter I'd kept and I wish I could have included her in the 'family pictures' I took when her brother was born.
And grandparents
26Being able to move the houses in the Mii Homes areaWhen a married couple gets divorced or you delete one or both of a married couple, their house disappears leaving an empty spot where it had been. Problem is, you can't rearrange any of the other houses so you'll have a very odd layout until another couple marries therefore taking that spot.
27GovernmentThat would be interesting. - KalloFox34
Itwould be fun to have leaders of the island, elections, etc
29Being able to see them have sexNo! Not a good idea! Especially for the fact that the Tomodachi series is child-friendly! - Jasmine21064
It could ask you your age. If you were an adult it would be enabled - XxSEVEREDHUMANITYxX
Than the game will be rated T
Trust me, Nintendo will NEVER make an M rated game. - N64Dude
What about Bayonetta 2, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Devil's Third and Eternal Darkness (though admittedly Nintendo simply published them)? - KalloFox34
Hello, I am looking for a CERTAIN pervert.
30Birthday cake available when it's not your birthdayAt least after your first in-game birthday party (literally the only place to get a birthday cake), it should become available at the food mart or morning market, or with the frying pan. I mean, I wouldn't mond only getting a birthday cake on my actual birthday, but for the fact that it can still be somebody's favorite or worst food.
The only way you can do this is if you change the year on your DS.
You can-sort of. The class depends on their personality. But I suppose it wouldn't work if you wanted nurse Joy to have a specific personality thst isn't a healer.
I have a Mii that is supposed to be a brawler, but in Tomodachi Quest he is a swordfighter. Also, I have a Nurse Joy Mii that is a mage instead of a healer. I wish I could choose their classes!
34Related miis get to live in an apartment togetherLike I said on #1 related miis like siblings can live together and they can move out if you don't like them living together.
35Have all outfits available to everyone in the portrait studio and concert hallYes, you can change a Mii's outfit just for a photo or song/stage performance, but only into outfits they already own themselves. And I'm not going to give someone, say, formal wear or something like the dinosaur suit I wouldn't want them wearing any other time just for a picture or performance.
It's called 'renting costumes'. Real-life theaters and photo studios let you dot that.
36Make Miis and Kid Miis go to schoolI would certainly think it would be funny to see your least favorite miis to go to school. I have three miis that are my least favorite
That would be funny
38Have colored hair without hair dyeIf the Nintendo Switch gets a Tomodachi LIfe game, this will probably happen, since the Switch adds new hair, eye, lipstick and glasses colors from all over the rainbow. - KalloFox34
39Add more technologyYes - Ikura
Miis should be able to use the computer/watch T.V. when you want them to. - KalloFox34
40Behavior based on personalityThat would be fun. Maybe it could vary the greetings they give you when you enter their apartment. For instance, maybe more extroverted miis could seem happier to see you, while more quiet and introverted miis are a bit less cheery. I think it kinda sucks that the personalities are only for things like friendships, relationships, etc. The miis are completely blank slates, and besides them getting mad or sad, they're WAY too cheery. Give them ACTUAL personality!
Yes! there is somewhat, but not enough.
41More control over miisYes! I wish we had more control over who miis meet. I also don't like that they can buy there own outfits.
I mean, we can already alter the lyrics of the songs from Concert Hall, but what if we could create a song by scratch? Not just the lyrics but also the melody, beat, and (if the song will be played in a Concert Hall performance) how the performance will be, how it'll look like, etc. Also, we could have the songs be played in the Cafe or another store, so that'll be great for players who are tired of hearing the same few songs repeatedly.
This will bring up a lot of fun songs made by people, and seeing/hearing their fully original songs from this game would be great. - Jasmine21064
If your island is full or almost full but you still want to add someone, having the option to have any current resident become a traveler is better than being forced to delete them.
46The ability to pick the dancers in songsSometimes a Mii sings a song, and then Miis that are supposed to be their enemies are dancing with them. Or my Mii sings a song, and then my least favorite Miis are dancing with my Mii!
47Make miis you hate go to schoolThat would be funny to see your least favorite miis go to school
48A traits systemThe personality quiz won't be totally removed, but you can choose which one you can use to determine a Mii's personality. - KalloFox34

Tomodachi Life[a] is a life simulationvideo game developed by Nintendo SPD and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. The game, which is a direct sequel to the Japan-exclusive Nintendo DS title Tomodachi Collection, was released in Japan in April 2013, June 2014 worldwide and July 2014 in South Korea. The game received positive reviews and good sales records. Many reviewers praised the gameplay but criticised the minigames. Its name means Friend Life.
Gameplay[edit]
The game begins with the player naming their island and creating or importing their personal Mii, who is referred to as the player's 'look-alike' and lives in an apartment building. The building holds up to 100 Miis. (or more depending on the date of the release of your copy)
The player can import Miis from the system's Mii Maker, other devices or QR codes or create them from scratch using the 3DS's camera or the in-game Mii Maker. The Miis are voiced by a text-to-speech software and have unique personalities. Miis can then perform various actions, such as eating, trying on different outfits, falling in love with each other, and engaging in many leisure activities. As more Miis are added to the island, many strange and curious interactions can occur between them, such as friendship, romance, rivalry, romantic relationships and families. As the game goes by, the player unlocks more stores, clothes, food, and places for the Miis to play. They can even unlock a port, where they can give and 'trade' goods with other islands.

Development[edit]
In May 2014, a playable demo of the game was distributed to Platinum members of Club Nintendo in North America, the data of which could be transferred to the final version to unlock a bonus in-game item.[1] The game is bundled with two Nintendo eShop download codes for a 'Welcome version' demo, which can be given to friends.[2] A slightly different demo version was later publicly released for download via the Nintendo eShop. This version does not unlock any features in the full game.
Following the announcement of a worldwide release, controversy arose concerning the impossibility of same-sex relationships. Nintendo stated, 'The ability for same-sex relationships to occur in the game was not part of the original game that launched in Japan, and that game is made up of the same code that was used to localise it for other regions outside Japan.' [3] In May 2013, it was widely reported that a bug in the original Japanese version of the game, which enabled same-sex relationships, was patched by Nintendo.[4] This was refuted by Nintendo in a statement made April 2014, explaining that same-sex relationships were never possible, and that the patch in fact fixed a different issue.[5] Despite various campaigns from users, Nintendo stated that it would not be possible to add same-sex relationships to the game, as they 'never intended to make any form of social commentary with the launch of the game',[6] and because it would require significant development alterations which would not be able to be released as a post-game patch. The company later apologised and stated that if they were to create a third game in the series they would 'strive to design a gameplay experience from the ground up that is more inclusive, and better represents all players.'[7]
Reception[edit]
Tomodachi Life has received positive reviews. It holds an average of 72% and 71/100 on review aggregate sites GameRankings and Metacritic, respectively.[8][9][10]IGN gave the game a score of 8.4, calling it 'a surprisingly funny and rewarding experience.'[11]Polygon gave Tomodachi Life a 7.5 out of 10, praising its likeability despite certain aspects being repetitive.[12]GamesRadar gave the game 4 out of 5 stars, praising its weird humor and relaxing gameplay, whilst criticising the minigames for being too simple.[13]GameTrailers gave the game a score of 6.0, stating 'the pervasive sense of quirkiness in Tomodachi Life works, but can’t sustain the entire game.'[14] The game has received criticism for not enabling relationships between Mii characters of the same sex; Nintendo of America later apologized for failing to include same-sex relationships in Tomodachi Life, stating that it wasn't possible for NoA to change the game's design, or for Nintendo to change this aspect in a post-ship patch. It also noted that 'if we create a next installment in the Tomodachi series, we will strive to design a game-play experience from the ground up that is more inclusive, and better represents all players.'[15][16]
Can Your Miis Actually Die In Tomodachi Life
Tomodachi Life was the best seller in the Japanese video game market during the week of its release, selling about 404,858 units.[17] By September 2014, its global sales reached 3.12 million units.[18] As of December 31, 2019, Nintendo has sold 6.55 million units of the game worldwide,[19] making it one of the top 10 best selling games on the 3DS.
Legacy[edit]
A stage based on Tomodachi Life appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.[20]Miitomo, a social networkingmobile app for iOS and Android devices, was released in March 2016. The app was created by the same core team who developed Tomodachi Life, and features very similar ideas. In 2016, a similar game involving Miis, Miitopia, was released in Japan.[21] It was released worldwide the following year.
